Gallatin, TN Shopping

From outdoors enthusiasts to antique collectors to history buffs, Gallatin TN offers something for almost any interest. The city's natural landscape and fascinating history attract visitors from all over the world. As the county seat of Sumner County, it is the hub of government and business.  Currently, Gallatin TN's population is approaching 30,000; Sumner County's population is approximately 155,500.

Old Hickory Lake is one of Gallatin TN's best attractions, offering outstanding fishing and watersport opportunities.  Public access is available at many locations around Gallatin.  An outstanding parks system, a growing greenway, and access to moutain bike trails, a skate park and more makes Gallatin TN attractive to those who love the outdoors. 

Gallatin TN's town square is  a cornerstone of the community with an abundance of history.  Featuring a central courthouse and 19th century buildings and churches, it mixes the old with the new.  In 2008 a new public library opened on the downtown square.  A streetscape revitalization was completed in 2009, making it more outdoor friendly and encouraging people to "gather" in this central core of the community.  It boasts numerous restaurants, entertainment venues and unique shopping opportunities.  A Farmers Market was also completed in 2009, allowing local farmers to sell their fresh harvests directly to consumers.
